STAFF
Our staff works diligently in insure each child placed in our care maximizes his/her chances to become fluent and life-long readers. Parents have access to each teacher to ask questions or share concerns throughout the entire time the child is receiving tutoring.
The teaching staff at the Lena Sommers Youth and Teen Literacy Center are all master teachers and have thousands of hours of experience in reading/literacy tutoring with children ages 5-18. The literacy center staff is headed by Jane Radaj and the center’s site facilitator is Margie Roberts, both from Cardinal Stritch. The program manager is Mary Beth Dugan from the Nehemiah Project. LaTasha Fields provides assessment and direct instruction to older children referred to the program. A group of 5 tutors provides direct instruction and Ms. Roberts coordinates the instructors’ and students’ schedules, overseeing all testing results and reports for students.
